INTRODUCTION

DurretteCrump has assisted and counseled clients in a broad range of complex and challenging business, financial planning and transactional matters. The firm's business practice encompasses general business; securities; finance; commercial and secured transactions; Real Estate & Land Use; tax; financial, retirement and estate planning; and health care matters. In these areas, our clients include individuals; small, medium and Fortune 500 companies; local, regional, national and international concerns; entrepreneurs; investment groups; financial institutions; non-profit organizations; and governmental entities. Collectively, the three lawyers in the business practice group, two with graduate degrees in taxation, have over 50 years of experience in these areas.

At DurretteCrump , we know business first hand. Business and tax challenges come in all shapes and sizes, usually when least expected. But DurretteCrump is prepared to help you overcome those challenges.  That’s because we’re business people, too. In previous lives, our lawyers have been: a practicing CPA; vice president of a regional healthcare provider; a federal tax guru at a Fortune 500 company; executive director of a non-profit agency with more than 200 employees; and a commercial real estate executive. We’ve been there.

We know how to take your business from idea to implementation. We can help you create the appropriate vehicle to get you there, always with one experienced eye on potential risks and rewards.

DurretteCrump has unusually deep practical experience with banks and banking, particularly in the areas of secured lending and bad loans, experience that you will find invaluable someday, if not sooner.

Tax considerations drive many business decisions; the ever-increasing complexity of the tax code is well known. But our clients can rely on us to protect them from unnecessary tax exposure because our tax lawyers know their stuff. And more and more often, government regulatory agencies promulgate regulations and rules that can trip up, confuse and discombobulate even the most vigilant businesses. So we keep our clients informed about tax and regulatory changes through newsletters, periodic legal checkups, articles on our website and by old-fashioned personal contact.

Bev Crump is the Chairman of the Business & Taxation Group.
