We at DurretteBradshaw PLC believe that service to our community goes hand-in-glove with service to our clients. Like many of those clients, we live here; we raise our families and educate our children here, so the quality of life is important to us. We make a concerted effort to give back to the community our time, our energies and our financial support. Making a meaningful contribution requires active participation in many organizations, and we have listed below a few of those in which we take pride:

  • Wyatt B. Durrette, Jr. is on the board of directors of Comfort Zone Camp, the nation's largest nonprofit bereavement camp for children. The camp serves children ages seven to seventeen who have lost a parent, sibling or primary care giver. Since 1998 the camp has helped guide more than 1,500 children through their grief, providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can have traditional camp fun, while at the same time acquire tools to help them cope with their loss. Staffed by trained volunteer counselors, including many grief professionals, Comfort Zone Camp offers several multi-day camps throughout the year.

  • TrePadges, a Richmond charity, raises money for organizations such as the Association for the Support of Children with Cancer, The Jackson- Field Home, and Noah’s Children. Christine Williams has served as Co-Chairman of the Board for the past four years and is involved with the promotion of the Seventh Annual TrePadges Invitational, a golf tournament, held at Independence Golf Club. TrePadges has raised over $100,000 since its inception. The Sixth Annual Invitational raised $28,500 for Challenge Discovery. For information, go to www.TrePadges.org http://www.trepadges.org/.

  • Members of the firm have been involved in fundraising events providing financial support to The Lloyd F. Moss Free Family Clinic. The annual event that raises money for free medical care to low-income and uninsured residents of the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area. The Clinic is operated by the Fredericksburg Area Regional Health Council and serves a community of more than 10,700 low income and uninsured residents.

  • Barrett Pope helped incorporate and continues to provide advice to the Free Clinic of Goochland, Inc. He served as the second President of the Board of Directors.

  • The firm has provided pro bono legal services as well as financial support to Friends Association for Children, an organization that supports learning opportunities for young children.

  • DurretteBradshaw PLC has participated for over a decade in the annual United Way Campaign.
